Here’s what a recruiter is looking for in a Psychologist resume

  • Academic degree in Psychology or other related fields: Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Your expertise in identifying, diagnosing, and treating psychological conditions, according to the DSM-IV, using the right methodologies designed to collect relevant information for diagnoses and treatment, creating programs for improving mental health in workplaces or communities, etc
  • Your ability to connect to various types of people or patients, work and empathize with others, and customize treatment plans according to unique demands and needs
  • Interpersonal and other necessary skills, including excellent verbal and non-verbal communication, organization, time management, flexibility and adaptability, trustworthiness, and confidentiality
  • Membership or affiliation with the according institutions, such as the American Psychological Association or the Society of Clinical Psychology

PRO TIPIn writing your resume, you will no doubt want to list your previous duties - as you should. But steer clear of just listing your duties, instead of your achievements. Make your resume stand out by communicating what you have done, and not merely what the job needed you to do.
