Finding your passion in life is not easy for most people, it takes time and dedication to really figure out the career that you truly enjoy.
After all my years of middle and high school it only took me taking my first engineering class to find my passion in life: computer science.
I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in computer science at San Diego State University.
While I am obtaining my degree I started working at the Computing Hub in the school's library where I am connected to technology. In the first semester of my sophomore year of college a group of students and I started the Computer Science Club on our campus.
We started this club because we wanted to create a place where other students in similar major would be able to create long lasting friendships and connections for the rest of college and furthermore into our careers. As a club we host academic workshops for younger students to help them understand their classes and expand their interest in the computer science world.
We also attend events like hackathons and do projects in areas not taught in the classroom.
Apart from helping other students succeed in their futures I myself love to solve problems and software engineering allows me to do it in an easier way.
I am constantly looking on ways to improve my coding skills and I am actively looking for internships that could help me to nurture my passion via immersion in the enterprise world. Also learning how people interact with each other to deliver business value to their customers with the software solutions they design, code and test.
I love the fact that I could make an impact to people via my code, whatever tool I could build to help them solve their daily life sounds super exciting to me.
I see myself in 3 years at a tech company making a huge impact in the lives of others through software that will make tasks easier for them and for myself.
