Hello,
When I first heard about Guru, I knew it was a company I was interested in. Documentation work is tedious and can be costly, if not done well. Using an AI to work with a knowledge base is a brilliant solution.
Why would Guru hire me as their Senior Software Engineer, Front End?
Experience
I've worked as a Front End Engineer since 2007 and a Project Manager since 2010, during this time I've built web tools and SaaS apps with finesse. While working on applications I have often had the privilege of providing advice that boosts sales, improves UX, grows careers, and streamlines processes.
Growth
• The latest tool I have been mastering is React, I've been combining it with Firebase for ease of prototyping apps.
• Naturally curious, I'm always looking for ways to improve, in any area of my life.
• Emotional tools and a healthy support system are things I cultivate with care.
• What's next is always as important to me as to where I've been, growth is a continual process.
Teamwork
• As the point person for the small team that I ran at Shomeya, I developed the skills to interface with a variety of teams and companies.
Community
All companies are communities. It's important to take care of yourself and each other and to proactively look for ways to do both. Ways I care for the communities in my life...
• Code and accessibility matters, you never know how long your code will be in use. I always comment, and cleanup.
• Speaking at meetups and live-coding visuals with #CatFanstheband are how I share code through art
• By sharing books like Burnout and Life Reimagined within my friend groups, I help increase my community's emotional intelligence. And by putting these things in action we are building the kind of world we want to live in.
• Creating documentaries, volunteering, and cargo biking are all ways I find new perspectives within communities.
Life happens
For the past year, I've been dealing with health and life issues that have only increased my desire to create work I love. Like doing CatFans visuals or projects, like Guru, that use data and AI's in unique ways.
Thank you for your time, I'm excited to talk further!
