I am delighted to submit my application for your organization. I'm Jonalyn Ellis, an Italian linguist with a background in multinational organizations.

For years I've looked at Amazon as a natural future employer. To me it's one of those world-class players who have the courage to innovate fiercely and shape the future. It's the kind of inspiring employer I want to work for. During my 6 years in PayPal Ireland, I became extremely passionate about user experience. At the moment I am pursuing studies in NPL, AI,machine learning and computational linguistics in order to refocus my profile around language technology. My dream is to help make machines better and better at communicating seamlessly with humans. I'm therefore open to any opportunity that may help me acquire experience towards that end. I'm very flexible about working conditions and location. I believe that could lead to a win-win situation and a perfect match between Amazon and me.

With a MA in Translation & Interpreting from the most recognized institute in Italy, I acquired sound expertise in translation,localization, QA, UX-UI and project management.

I gained experience in language quality assurance as a QA Specialist for Sony Computer Entertainment. During my experiences in PayPal Inc. and Microsoft Ireland, I helped improve the customer experience by reporting issues, bugs and content requests for developers and product owners according to workflows and instructions. In SDL plc, the fourth language service provider globally, I fine-tuned my project management and time management skills.

I am familiar with Standard Operating Procedures, voice & tone standards, style guides, glossary management and translation memories.

A natural-born proofreader and accurate editor, I have academic-level knowledge of my native language, as well as profound awareness about cultural/regional dialect differences in Italy. I find satisfaction in delivering flawless, accurate language output. I have an eye for detail and I take pride in a job very well done. I thrive in change and I have a record of driving best practices and process improvements.
