There is a real reward in seeing Sales be successful. That comes from knowing how much work it takes to make that happen.
I know that they need someone to listen carefully to what customers and the market have to say, and to understand it in depth. To research where we fit in that story, and where we can win. And to educate and align all those around us to work as a cohesive unit. Making this happen is the work that I relish. Those are the moments where my skills and experience bring real value.
I've built my career in the broad Marketing of technology offerings. I rose through the ranks of then the largest homegrown Irish software company called Openet, with €100m in revenue through a complex enterprise sale. I went on to lead its Marketing function of 12+ people directly, and was part of the leadership team over 800 staff in total. My role was always focused on the part I enjoyed the most; positioning and description of their diverse offerings and the alignment of the org around a new way of selling. As such, strategising, aligning and creating Marketing content were my key work areas. I then took on a Marketing department at small SaaS player called eSpatial, but my brief there was really to figure out their Product Marketing to enable a path to future growth.
That business (mapping technology) was focused on people moving, so when Covid hit it was time for me to move on. I had a pregnant wife who worked from home in the HSE so when a long covid pregnancy (finally) turned into a newborn baby, we recently agreed it is time for me to go back to work.
So now I am hoping to find my next long term working home, and from what I see, I believe ServiceNow can be it. I am fascinated by the employee and customer engagement spaces, having utilized Marketing tools to achieved similar versions of the same objectives. I further believe that my working style will be aligned with your culture of humility, innovation and inclusion. These are the cornerstones of my career success so far. From the outside that seems like the right fit for your needs, but I would love to discuss with you to find out more.
